Happy Summer!

Branciforte Small School office will be closed until July 17th. Please call 831-429-3898 X55214 for assistance, transcripts, or information about enrollment.

Work permits are available at the district office, 133 Mission St., from 8-4:30 every weekday.

School resumes August 10, 2023.

Family Support Networks Tuesday Nights

In collaboration with Santa Cruz City Schools, Positive Discipline Community Resources offers weekly Family Support Networks meetings Every Tuesday from 7-8 PM (in English & Spanish) via Zoom.

Please join us Tuesday evenings! Families can drop anytime or attend weekly. Topics are selected in advance by participants. Please take a moment to fill out this survey on topics to select to get the support you need!

Come with an open mind, root yourself in self-compassion and be ready to discuss a challenge you are facing or just listen in for support.

Community Foundation Santa Cruz County Scholarships

Apply now! We have 9 scholarships with a total of 16 available awards this year. Scholarships amounts range from $750 to $2,400, with several renewable for up to 3 years.

Bookshop Santa Cruz

BSSC has become an affiliate site for Bookshop Santa Cruz. Anything purchased through our affiliate link will be credited toward the purchase of new books for our library.

About BSSC

The Branciforte Small Schools Campus (BSSC) has been located on the old Branciforte Elementary School site (built in 1914) since the fall of 2004, and houses four schools in the Santa Cruz City School District — Alternative Family Education (AFE) Homeschool, Ark Independent Studies, Costanoa High School (created from the merger of Loma Prieta High School and the Ark daily program), and Monarch Community Elementary School. Branciforte Head Start is also located on our campus.

BSSC is a Coalition of Essential Schools campus. The Coalition of Essential Schools (CES) is at the forefront of creating and sustaining personalized, equitable, and intellectually challenging schools. Essential schools are places of powerful learning where all students have the chance to reach their fullest potential. Graduates understand and exhibit the habits that foster a lifetime of success.

Ark Independent Studies and Costanoa are accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) Accrediting Commission for Schools.
